Backyard Monsters is a base-building strategy game about turning a small yard into a defended monster stronghold. Gather resources, upgrade your Town Hall, hatch an army and send it into battle against other yards.

Backyard Monsters Reborn brings that experience to Windows through a free launcher and community-run servers. If you remember the Backyard Monsters Facebook game, this is a separate way to play today, with new accounts and saved progress.

We are an independent preservation project, not an official KIXEYE relaunch. Development continues, so the current game may differ from the original. Learn about Backyard Monsters Reborn.

Build, defend and choose your battles

A yard worth defending

Build resource collectors and storage, then upgrade the Town Hall to develop your base. Place walls and defensive towers around the buildings you want to protect. Their positions matter when attackers enter your yard.

An army of monsters

Hatch monsters, house your troops and choose what to send into an attack. Familiar creatures include Pokey and D.A.V.E. Your army and your base develop together as you unlock and upgrade buildings.

Battles beyond your base

Attack other yards, gather resources and return to strengthen your defenses. Explore the world map and compare your progress with other players. Join Discord for strategies, updates and support.

How to start playing on Windows

The launcher and game are free. Optional Shiny purchases and D.A.V.E. Club membership are not required to start playing.

You need a Windows PC, an internet connection and a Discord account for verification. No browser Flash plug-in is needed. The supported game launcher is for Windows, not Android, iPhone or Mac.

Create your account. Register with your username, email and password on the account page. Your old Facebook login does not transfer your original yard.
Verify through Discord. Get a verification code from Account, then use /verify in the community's register-account channel and submit the code.
Install and play. Download the Windows launcher, sign in and choose Install game. When it is ready, choose Enter your yard.
